Atlantic Residents Plan to Spend More as Residents of Newfoundland and Labrador Consider Spending $1,100 this Festive Season.


A recent survey conducted by Retail Council of Canada revealed that the residents of Atlantic Provinces in Canada expect to spend more than residents of other Provinces.

The survey assessed the amount Atlantic Canadians to Spend this Christmas season.
A survey by the shows that Atlantic Canadians plan to spend more on holiday shopping this year than any other region in the country.

The council wanted to know more about the holiday shopping habits of Canadians and found that people in Newfoundland and Labrador and Maritimes plan to spend an average of $1,100 each.

The out of the survey shows that the people of the Province will not let the difficult economic challenges stop them from enjoying the Christmas season.

Atlantic Director of the Retail Council, Jim Cormier posited that it’s amazing how early people decide to get out and start their Christmas shopping.

The outcome of the surveys conducted in Ontario was considered to be very closely behind Atlantic Canada concerning spending intentions with Quebec, which is usually near the bottom, also moving up this time. He calls the findings good news for the economy.
